General Information on Perfect series AVR’s
It is a solid-state voltage regulator to control output voltage of alternators, fulfilling the main requirement of 3 phase alternators. The purpose of AVR is to maintain terminal voltage of an alternator constant on load. As it is known that when the alternator is loaded, its terminal voltage decreases depending on the machine reactance, type of load etc. The constant voltage is maintained if excitation is suitably controlled.
The voltage control of the alternator is accomplished by controlling the field voltage of rotating A.C. Exciter. This AVR finds applications when the load on the alternator is continuously changing due to starting and stopping of motors and such loads.
SALIENT FEATURES OF PERFECT SERIES AVR’s Universal AVR : PERFECT make AVR can be used with any of the following make alternators, Kirloskar, Crompton, NGEF, Jyoti, Siemens (Germany), Stemford (U.K), Hansa (Farnce), AVK (USA), Relaince (USA), Radconcer (France), Man & other imported alternators and any other alternators whose field parameter within the limits of this AVR.
Solid State Circuit : A fully solid-state circuit, No moving parts hence no wear and tear.
FRO : This AVR has built in FRO Circuit, it reduces the excitation to minimum at idle running of alternator hence safe guard the alternators winding.
Stability: This AVR has built in average sensing and filtering circuits to give good stability for non-linear loads like controlled and uncontrolled rectifier bridge.
Mounting: This AVR can be installed as panel mounting or built in generator type.
Parallel Operation: Suitable for parallel operation by quadrature droop unit. QDC unit is not supplied with AVR. It is available on demand. Only applicable in A3 & A4 model.
High Voltage Protection: This AVR has built in high voltage protection. It trip the DG set voltage and safe guard the DG Set & load against High Voltage. Only applicable in A4 model.
